APPLICATIONS / INDUSTRIAL
Know what is in the batch, before it moves downstream
Identity, homogeneity and mix ratio, checked at-line for polymers, raw materials and specialty chemicals, with a validated model ready today for polymer identification or built around what you process.
THE SOLUTION
QC that keeps pace with your production line
NIRStudio pairs one handheld device with a calibration model, ready off-the-shelf for polymer identification, or built around the materials you process.

Instant identity and quality checks
Confirm material grade, homogeneity or mix ratio in seconds, right at the line, not after the batch has moved on.
No sample preparation
Scan pellets, powders, liquids or finished parts directly. Nothing to extract or dissolve first.
Instant results
Bluetooth-paired to the NIRStudio app on your phone. Results appear before you have finished logging the batch.
Off-the-shelf or custom-built
Start with a validated model for polymer identification, or we calibrate one around your own raw material or process stream.
READY TODAY
Off-the-shelf model, no custom calibration needed
This one runs on a validated model out of the box. Explore it for the parameters it covers.

OFF-THE-SHELF
Polymer & Plastics Identification
Grade identification and quality parameters at-line, a validated model, ready to deploy across resin types.
LIVE RESULTS
See what one scan tells you
Example output from three custom-calibrated categories. For anything without a validated model yet, we build one around your samples.
Recycled plastics
- Polymer type PET
- Purity level 98.9%
- Contaminant screen clear
- Grade match match
Specialty chemical
- Identity match match
- Purity indicator within range
- Batch-to-batch consistency consistent
- Supplier match yes
Lubricant or industrial oil
- Degradation indicator nominal
- Contamination screen clear
- Water content 0.04%
- Viscosity trend stable
Illustrative values shown for format only. Your model parameters and thresholds are set during calibration, against your own reference samples.
BUILT TO ORDER
Custom-calibrated for what else you process
Beyond the off-the-shelf polymer model above, we build a calibration around your own reference samples for anything else in your process.

WHY IT MATTERS
Off-spec does not wait for the lab, and neither should you
Every batch running while you wait on lab confirmation is a batch you might have to rework or scrap. Scanning at-line catches grade drift or contamination before it moves downstream.
Every scan is logged with a timestamp, device ID and result, building a consistency record across suppliers, lines and shifts, not just a single pass or fail.

HOW IT WORKS
Three steps, seconds to a result
Once your model is loaded, testing is this simple.

1. Connect
Pair the device with the NIRStudio app on your phone.
2. Scan
Place the device on the sample and press the button.

YOUR MODEL
How your model gets built
For anything outside the off-the-shelf polymer model, it starts with your reference data: real samples from the real conditions your line runs in.

Step 1. Scan and send
Scan your sample with the device, and send the same sample to a lab for certified reference analysis.

Step 2. We build your model
We match your device scans to the lab results and build a calibration validated against them.

Step 3. Ready to use
Your model loads into the NIRStudio app, ready for your team to scan against, at intake or on the line.
Not sure NIR will catch your specific quality issue? Start with a feasibility study: a short device rental and an initial model to confirm it works on your material before committing to a full build.
FAQ
Questions we hear from process and QC teams
Can one device run both the off-the-shelf polymer model and a custom one?
Yes. Load as many models onto the same device and app as you need, the off-the-shelf polymer model and a custom raw-material model for instance, and switch between them without new hardware.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. Scanning and results work offline. Data syncs to your dashboard once you are back online.
How does this compare to lab testing or inline process analyzers?
NIRStudio gives a fast, non-destructive read against your spec or reference, well suited to at-line quality and consistency checks. It is built to complement certified lab testing and larger inline systems, not replace them in every case. For validated release testing, lab confirmation may still be required.
Can you build a model for a material that is not listed here?
Yes, this is what custom calibration is for. Send us representative samples covering the range you process, and we build and validate a model around them.
What support is available?
Email, phone and video-call support, plus scheduled model updates as your materials or suppliers change.
